Asylum Diaries

Asylum Diaries is a single-channel video installation where a man born in Afghanistan reconstructs his childhood house into an architectural scale model. The man had to escape his home at a very young age. During the reconstruction process, he goes through his life story from childhood to the present day. The video juxtaposes the man’s story with the process of building the model. In the video installation, the scale model is presented next to the video. The work has been produced as part of the Refugee Air art project.
