JP Kaljonen (MFA, Academy of Fine Arts / University of the Arts Helsinki, Finland) is a visual artist working in the field of socially engaged art. His works include site-specific artworks, workshops, sound, photography, and video projects, as well as community-based cultural and arts events, varying across different countries and communities. Kaljonen’s social art practice is dialogical, processual, and action-based, focusing on creating conditions where the communities he collaborates with can explore their concerns and respond to them using artistic and activist methods.
